It is usually supported by quoting certain Old Testament promises to Abraham while assuming those promises still apply directly to a modern political nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, faithful Bible study requires something very important:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>All Scripture must agree with all Scripture.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We cannot isolate a few verses while ignoring the clear explanations given later in the New Testament. The Bible must interpret itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we follow the biblical message from <strong>Genesis to Revelation<\/strong>, a consistent theme appears: <strong>the promise of God is fulfilled in Christ, and those who belong to Christ are the true children of the promise.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The First Promise: The Seed Who Would Defeat Satan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The story begins immediately after the fall of man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Genesis 3:15<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; <strong>it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here God announces the coming <strong>Seed<\/strong> who would defeat the serpent. From the beginning the focus of redemption is not a nation but <strong>a person who would come to destroy the works of Satan.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Promise Given to Abraham<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later God gives a covenant promise to Abraham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Genesis 22:18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd in <strong>thy seed<\/strong> shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This promise contains two important truths:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The blessing would reach <strong>all nations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It would come through <strong>Abraham\u2019s seed<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point the Old Testament reader might assume the promise refers simply to Abraham\u2019s physical descendants. But the New Testament later explains the true meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The New Testament Reveals the True Seed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The apostle Paul gives the inspired interpretation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Galatians 3:16<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNow to Abraham and his <strong>seed<\/strong> were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, <strong>And to thy seed, which is Christ.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This verse is decisive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The promise was ultimately not about many ethnic descendants. The promise pointed to <strong>one Seed \u2014 Jesus Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entire Abrahamic covenant reaches its fulfillment in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Are Abraham\u2019s True Children?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once Christ is identified as the Seed, the Bible explains how others participate in that promise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Galatians 3:28\u201329<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere is neither Jew nor Greek\u2026 for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.<br>And <strong>if ye be Christ&#8217;s, then are ye Abraham&#8217;s seed, and heirs according to the promise.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scripture makes the condition clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heirs of Abraham are not defined by bloodline but by <strong>belonging to Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Physical Israel Is Not Automatically the People of God<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The apostle Paul directly addresses this misunderstanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Romans 9:6\u20138<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor <strong>they are not all Israel, which are of Israel<\/strong>:<br>Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children\u2026<br><strong>They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here Paul makes a clear distinction:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Children of the Flesh<\/th><th>Children of the Promise<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Physical descent<\/td><td>Faith in God&#8217;s promise<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Ethnic identity<\/td><td>Spiritual rebirth<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore Scripture itself teaches that <strong>physical lineage alone does not make someone part of God\u2019s covenant people.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jesus Addressed This Issue Directly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When certain Jewish leaders claimed Abraham as their father, Jesus responded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 8:39<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf ye were Abraham&#8217;s children, <strong>ye would do the works of Abraham.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their rejection of Christ revealed that they were not truly following Abraham\u2019s faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same principle applies to everyone today: <strong>true faith in God always leads to faith in the Messiah He sent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Kingdom Was Taken From Unbelief<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus later issued a solemn warning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matthew 21:43<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTherefore say I unto you, <strong>The kingdom of God shall be taken from you<\/strong>, and given to a <strong>nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue again was <strong>unbelief<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The kingdom belongs to those who produce the fruit of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Christ Created One People of God<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The gospel does not establish two separate covenant peoples. Instead it unites believers from every background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ephesians 2:14\u201316<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor he is our peace, <strong>who hath made both one<\/strong>\u2026<br>For to make in himself of twain <strong>one new man<\/strong>, so making peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christ removed the barrier between Jew and Gentile and formed <strong>one new people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Olive Tree in Romans 11<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Romans 11 describes this unity using the image of an olive tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some branches were broken off because of unbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Romans 11:20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBecause of <strong>unbelief they were broken off<\/strong>, and thou standest by faith.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Jewish people can still be restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Romans 11:23<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd they also, <strong>if they abide not still in unbelief<\/strong>, shall be graffed in.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This passage teaches two important truths:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jewish people can absolutely be saved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are saved <strong>the same way as everyone else \u2014 through faith in Christ.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is <strong>one tree<\/strong>, not two separate covenant systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The True People of God in Revelation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of the Bible we again see the definition of God\u2019s people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Revelation 12:17<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with <strong>the remnant of her seed<\/strong>, which keep the commandments of God, and <strong>have the testimony of Jesus Christ<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seed is clearly defined:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who <strong>hold the testimony of Jesus Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Final Vision of Redemption<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In heaven the redeemed are described this way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Revelation 5:9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood <strong>out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The people of God come from <strong>every nation<\/strong>, united by the blood of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Necessary Warning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many modern teachings claim that a particular nation or bloodline still holds a special covenant status regardless of faith in Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But such teachings often rely on <strong>selective reading of Scripture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We must be careful not to build theology by emphasizing certain passages while ignoring the full biblical revelation. That approach leads to <strong>eisegesis<\/strong> \u2014 reading ideas into the text rather than allowing Scripture to speak for itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consistent message of the Bible is clear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The promise was given to <strong>the Seed \u2014 Christ<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those who belong to Christ become <strong>Abraham\u2019s seed<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salvation is offered to <strong>all people through the gospel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The True Focus of the Bible<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entire story of Scripture points to one central truth:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of God\u2019s promise.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Acts 4:12<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNeither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every person \u2014 Jew or Gentile \u2014 must come to God the same way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>through faith in Jesus Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Encouragement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This truth should never lead us to pride or hostility toward any people group.
